October has arrived, and the beautiful fall weather has provided excellent conditions for getting landscaping projects completed before winter.
Fall can be a great time for lawn improvements, including lawn topdressing, leveling and smoothing low or uneven areas, seeding or overseeding, and applying starter fertilizer. The cooler temperatures and available soil moisture can help support healthy establishment while avoiding the heat and drying conditions of midsummer.
October is also a good time to address yard grading and drainage concerns. Low areas, standing water, and poor drainage around your property are often easier to identify in the fall, giving you an opportunity to correct problem areas before winter and spring runoff.
