Our History

Wayne Leeson

Good Turf Landscaping was founded in 1984 by Wayne Leeson (1953–2015). Wayne originally worked on City of Winnipeg water main projects, supervising the installation of new lines along the city’s boulevards. When he saw the growing demand for sod installation that followed these projects, he realized he could meet the need with his own family crew — and Good Turf was born. Built on a foundation of quality workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction, Wayne grew Good Turf into a trusted name in Winnipeg’s landscaping industry. His belief in doing the job right the first time continues to guide us today.

Carrying on the Legacy

Lance Leeson Owner Good Turf Landscaping Services Inc

In 1996, Good Turf Landscaping became a true family business under the proud new ownership of Lance Leeson. Today, Good Turf Landscaping Services Inc. continues to uphold the same core values that built its reputation — quality workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction. Over the years, these values have earned us a reputation as a reliable and professional company trusted for delivering lasting results across Winnipeg.

A New Generation

Landscaper

2014 and Erik Leeson joined our team full time helping with on-site projects, quoting and to navigate the company transition into the residential market. Currently in another trade, Erik continues to lend his expertise to our landscape projects, contributing to the growth and success of our company. His dedication and skill set make him an invaluable asset to our team.

Now in 2025, our 41st season, I am honored that the majority of our clientele come from repeat customers and direct referrals. We look forward to building even more lasting relationships in the years ahead. With three generations of family experience and a wide range of landscaping services, Good Turf remains committed to delivering the highest quality and service on every project.      — Lance Leeson
